Being with You Till the Last Moment
Chian-Li Hsu
Death is a topic avoided by many people. It is not a question of “if,” but rather one of “when”. How much do we know about death, this compulsory lesson in life? How do we end the last stage in life when the curtain falls? Through Mr. Hsu’s experiences and perspective, we will learn to treasure people who are with us right now and not wait till the end of our lives. Mr. Hsu was born in Dajia in Taiwan. He immigrated to Canada in 1974 and started teaching English at Vancouver Community College until his retirement in 2007. Since receiving hospice training in 2008, Mr. Hsu has been a hospice volunteer at Vancouver General Hospital. In the Springs of 2013 and 2014, he volunteered at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Luodong in Taiwan. He put together the life stories seen, heard, and learned at both hospitals into a book titled ""Being with You Till the Last Moment"". The proceeds of his book goes towards the hospice program at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Luodong.
